Sweden has reported an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1 bird flu virus on a farm in the south of the country, Reuters reported, citing the Paris-based World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

The virus killed 1,137 birds.

The rest of the flock of 23,598 birds has been destroyed, according to the SOZZ, which refers to a report by the Swedish authorities, reports BTA.
