The Russian command spares neither ammunition, nor equipment, nor personnel in order to achieve a minimal advantage at the front.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to the British publication

The Guardian

.

He noted that the Ukrainian military uses 4,000 to 7,000 artillery shells every day, while the Russian invaders use about 20,000 shells every day, which is 5 times more.

The NATO Secretary General noted that Russia uses more shells than the entire NATO bloc manages to produce.

"This is a war of attrition, it is about industrial capacity.

The current level of consumption of ammunition is higher than production", Jens Stoltenberg said.

In addition, the NATO Secretary General stated that Russia is increasing its military production and is appealing to other dictatorial regimes to help with weapons.

Stoltenberg also noted that the fierce battles around Bakhmut show that the Russian leadership is ready to abandon thousands of troops and suffer heavy losses for the sake of minimal gains at the front.

It will be recalled that Stoltenberg previously stated that the West needs to prepare to

provide lethal aid to Kyiv for a long time

.

In addition, we previously informed that

NATO will create a new arms procurement system for Ukraine
