Turkish President Recep Erdogan

Recep Tayyip Erdogan - Turkish politician and prime minister.

Born on February 26, 1954 in Istanbul. Ended to the delight of pensioners with an increase in pensions before the elections in May, as the lowest pension in the country will now be 7,500 lira (about BGN 710), reported local media, quoted by BTA.

As the head of state informed, the minimum pension in our southeastern neighbor will be increased by two thousand Turkish lira (nearly BGN 190).

"We have decided to increase the lowest monthly pension to 7,500 Turkish lira. May it be happy for our people, for all our pensioners," Erdogan said.

This is an additional increase to the already increased pensions since the beginning of the year, which were indexed according to inflation.

Before January 2023, the lowest pension in the country was 3,500 Turkish lira (330 BGN at the current exchange rate).

So far, it has not been officially announced when the increased pensions will be paid, but it is expected to happen during the week of the Ramazan Bayram holiday, which this year falls on April 21-23.
