New Delhi:

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's difficulties are not taking the name of abatement.

Surat district court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years imprisonment in a criminal defamation case filed over his alleged 'Modi surname' remark.

The case was registered under sections 499 and 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Now Rahul Gandhi will have to go to a higher court to get the conviction suspended.

For this, Rahul Gandhi has one month's time.

If Rahul Gandhi does not get relief from the High Court, then the difficulties of the Congress leader will increase.

BJP got another chance to corner Congress...

These days Rahul Gandhi is in controversies regarding the statement made in London.

The BJP is busy besieging the Congress from Parliament to the road regarding this statement.

BJP says that Rahul Gandhi has insulted the country on foreign soil, so he should apologise.

Meanwhile, the two-year jail sentence from Surat's district court in a criminal defamation case filed over the alleged 'Modi surname' remark has given the BJP another opportunity to attack the Congress.

At the same time, the Congress is now on the backfoot.

The sword hanging over Rahul Gandhi's parliament membership,

MP Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Surat district court in a criminal defamation case filed over his alleged 'Modi surname' remark.

However, Rahul Gandhi later got bail from the court, but now his parliament membership hangs in the balance.

Actually, the membership of Parliament can be canceled on the punishment of two years or more in a criminal case.

This provision is there in the RPA Act.

According to this, conviction in corruption and NDPS is enough.
