New Delhi:

Several opposition parties have decided to submit a detailed report to the Election Commission on the technical questions being raised regarding the security of EVM machines.

This decision was taken in a meeting of senior leaders of several opposition parties at NCP President Sharad Pawar's house.

It was agreed in the meeting that there is still confusion among the common people about EVMs, which needs to be removed soon.

Under the chairmanship of NCP President Sharad Pawar, leaders of several opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party, Shiv Sena, CPI and TRS held a meeting on the issue of EVMs on Thursday evening.

After the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said, "Confusion has spread among the public about EVMs. Till date, the Election Commission has not answered the questions being raised about EVMs. There should be no doubt about EVMs. We have Have decided that we will go to the Election Commission and tell them that look, we have been telling you these things for many years and this is the last time we have come to ask you: What are you going to do about it? The Commission should answer so that the question is over at once".

In conversation with NDTV, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh said that in the case of EVM it is said that it is a standalone machine.

But how is the candidate's name and symbol loaded into the VVPAT machine?

It is said that EVM has One Time Programmable Chip.

But we have got information that it is Multiple programmable chip.

From where are these chips being bought and who puts the source code in them?

The general belief is that there is no machine in the whole world which has a chip and which cannot be hacked.

The Congress leader said that all political parties have decided in this regard that we will ask the Election Commission all the questions that we should ask.

The leaders of the opposition parties have now decided that they will present a detailed report to the Election Commission on the technical questions raised regarding the fairness and security of EVMs.

He wants the Commission to answer the questions raised regarding EVMs in writing, so that the apprehensions about EVMs can be put to an end forever.
