A difference in cash availability and in the name of the good or service in the receipt are the predominant violations established by the National Revenue Agency (NAA) during inspections in commercial establishments in the period February 15 - March 17, 2023.

This was announced by the National Revenue Agency in response to questions in connection with the inspections carried out by the revenue agency in chains of grocery stores and supermarkets together with other control bodies - the Ministry of Agriculture, the Commission for Consumer Protection (CPC) and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency ( BABH), transmits BTA.

Control actions were initiated by the state because of high food prices.

For the period February 15 - March 17, the tax authorities found a total of 114 violations.

More than 570 joint inspections have been carried out.

The CPC has filed three proceedings over a possible cartel in food prices

A few days ago, inspectors from the National Revenue Agency, BFSA and law enforcement officials checked the largest vegetable markets in Plovdiv and Sofia for illegal trade.

The tax authorities found a total of 5 violations, including the absence of a cash register, failure to issue a receipt and a discrepancy between the amounts marked on the fiscal device and the cash balance.
