In the Pleven region, nine people were detained for various crimes during a specialized police operation to combat crime and protect public order.

This was announced by the spokesperson of the Regional Directorate (OD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pleven, senior expert Mariana Tsvetkova.

She clarified for BTA that the police actions in Plevensko are part of the series of actions that are being held on the territory of the various regional directorates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the country with the aim of countering domestic crime. 

In the police action held yesterday, uniformed officers from all the district administrations in the district, as well as from the various sectors of the ODVRM in Pleven, employees of the Zonal Gendarmerie Department, the State Forestry Department, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection took part in the police action environment and waters, the National Revenue Agency and the Regional Health Inspection. 

As part of the action, more than one ton of brandy was found in the home of a 45-year-old woman in the village of Chomakovtsi, which was handed over to employees of the Territorial Directorate "Customs" in Ruse.

Illegally owned wood, cigarette boxes without a Bulgarian banderol were found in various places in the district, in an apartment in Cherven Bryag, owned by a 40-year-old, a gas pistol with an empty magazine and a dismantled sleeve, three cartridges of different calibers, as well as inflorescences were found of hemp

Eight people were detained during a special operation in Vrachansko

A total of 398 people and 258 motor vehicles were checked in the course of the campaign, the spokesperson of the ODMVR in Pleven points out.

Inspections were carried out at 18 points for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, 14 pawnshops, 16 car morgues, car repair shops and depots, 29 drinking and entertainment establishments, 37 commercial establishments.

11 crimes related to drugs, goods with unpaid excise duty, illegally acquired wood, violations of the Road Traffic Act were registered. 

The nine detainees are under police remand for up to 24 hours.

All materials were reported to the District Prosecutor's Office in Pleven.

Mariana Tsvetkova recalled that the last large-scale police action in Pleven was held on March 1.

At that time, there were six people arrested for various crimes.
