Jian Zhuangjiao was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, and paid 300,000 yuan to the public treasury.

Nantou citizen representative Ouyang Canyue sought re-election as city representative last year. During the election campaign, he paid 500 yuan per ticket in cash to Zhuangjiao Jian, asking him to buy the tickets on his behalf.

Zhuang Jiao, surnamed Jian, handed over 8,500 yuan in cash to three voters surnamed Lin, asking them and their families to vote for Ouyang Canyue.

The civil court of Nantou District Court ruled that the election was invalid on the 22nd of last month, and the election bribery case was concluded this month, and the judgment was pronounced at 4 pm. The Nantou District Court sentenced Ouyang Canyue to 2 years in prison for the crime of delivering bribes, and announced a 5-year probation. However, within 1 year after the verdict is confirmed, he must pay 800,000 yuan to the public treasury and perform 200 hours of compulsory labor. He will be deprived of public rights for 5 years .

In addition, Jian Zhuangjiao was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, paid 300,000 yuan to the public treasury, and deprived of public rights for 3 years.

Ouyang Canyue was the second person elected in Nantou to be sentenced for election bribery in the 9-in-1 election last year. The first was Nantou County Councilor Zeng Zhenyan. He resigned from the county councilor before the first trial. The crime of delivering bribes in violation of the Election and Strike Law was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and deprivation of public rights for 5 years.
