Rahul Gandhi has got immediate bail in the defamation case.

New Delhi:

Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by Gujarat's Surat court on Thursday, holding him guilty of defamation.

Rahul Gandhi was sentenced in the defamation case for commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surname.

A fine of Rs 15,000 has also been imposed on him.

However, he also got bail from the court.

The Congress said that it has said to fight the matter in the upper court.
