Lithuania will appeal to the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance with a request to organize an ammunition stockpile on its territory.

According to APA, Defense Minister Arvidas Anusauskas told reporters on Thursday.

"NATO's defense plans, which are being prepared, should include conditions for keeping an additional arsenal in the region of the Eastern flank of the alliance, which includes Lithuania, so that the ammunition is not transported across Europe," he said.

According to the minister, on this eve, Lithuania is expanding the necessary infrastructure.

"In 2024, we will build about 30 ammunition depots," Anusauskas added.
