Amethi (UP) :

A stork living at the house of a youth who saved his life in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district has been sent to the Samastpur Bird Sanctuary in Rae Bareli by the Forest Department.

The forest department claims that consent was taken from the young man before sending the stork to the bird sanctuary, while he has denied it.

Divisional Forest Officer D.N.

Singh said on Wednesday that a team of the department met and agreed with Arif, a resident of Mandkha, Jamo development block of Amethi, to send the stork to the bird sanctuary.

He said that the stork has been sent to Samastpur Bird Sanctuary, Unchahar, Rae Bareilly on Tuesday.

According to him, videography of this process has also been done.

Meanwhile, Arif said in the conversation, 'The forest department team came and said that there is an order from above and we will take the stork.

They took him away.

We farmers cannot even quarrel with anyone.

On the question that the divisional forest officer is saying that you had told him that if the stork had any problem being alone then you are ready to send it to the bird sanctuary, Arif said, 'No, we did not say anything like that. '

On a question whether the forest department team had taken consent from the stork before taking it, Arif said, 'Oh he was like my child.

Shall we let him go... You tell me?'

Significantly, Arif, a resident of Mandkha of Jamo development block of Amethi district, had found a stork in an injured condition in the field about a year ago.

Arif brought her to his home and took care of her.

Slowly the stork got completely cured and started living with Arif.
