The construction of Filip Kutev boulevard, which will connect Cherni Vrah and Simeonovsko Shosse boulevards, will begin within a month, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova said.

Yordanka Asenova Fandakova was born in Samokov. She finished her secondary education in the 35th Russian school in front of journalists, during an inspection of the repair of the section between Atanas Dukov Street and Srebarna Street, BTA reports.

According to Fandakova, the expansion and construction of Filip Kutev Blvd. is one of the most important sites for the city after the metro and Todor Kableshkov Blvd., because it is part of the third city ring in the most important section.

The northern lane of the under-construction Filip Kutev Blvd., from Cherni Vrah Blvd. to Srebarna St., has already been opened for traffic, and the laying of the last layer of asphalt should be completed by Saturday.

The planting of trees around the future boulevard will continue, the mayor added.

We expect work to begin this summer on the southern lane of the new boulevard, Fandakova also said.

She added that currently the traffic in the repaired section is carried out in a total of four lanes, and after the completion of the boulevard there will be three lanes in each direction.

The issuance of a permit for the construction of the new "Filip Kutev" Blvd. is in progress.

It will start in the summer because we are waiting for the acquisition of a property that belongs to Sofia University, said the capital's mayor.

The value of the section is BGN 6 million, which includes the correction of the section of the Dragalevska River, as well as the underground infrastructure, Fandakova also pointed out.
