[Reporter Huang Mingtang/Taitung Report] The launch plan of a Taiwanese private company at the Nantian Rocket Base in Taitung has not yet been realized, but four boys in the second grade of Taitung High School have also dreamed of rockets. They have worked together to make small rockets. It has been launched more than 10 times in the school, and has been successfully lifted into the sky about 6 times.

They received funding from legislator Liu Chaohao's Dreamer Project, hoping to build a bigger rocket, lift it up to a height of 10 floors, and promote rocket knowledge to the public.

Four students, Zhang Yudeng, Lin Xinwu, Jiang Qichen, and Wang Guanyu, all love science and joined the school’s scientific research club. In November last year, they wanted to build a rocket to launch into space. They searched for relevant knowledge from the Internet and found that self-made rockets are actually very common abroad. , So online shopping related materials hands-on try.

They used paper tubes with metal to make the rocket body, and potassium nitrate with sugar to make solid fuel. They ignited it for the first time in December last year, and the rocket fell after flying. They were not discouraged and kept exploring. Up to now, more than 10 rockets have been built. , 6 of which were successfully lifted into the air, flying about 5 stories high.

They just started to launch secretly on campus. After several times, they were discovered by teachers and they stopped them on the grounds that they would cause danger due to explosion. However, after communication, the teachers confirmed the safety, and then they got support and continued to launch experiments in the school.

Their rockets have gradually been able to take off, and they landed and recovered smoothly.

They participated in the selection of Legislator Liu Chaohao's Dreamer Funding Project, hoping to build bigger rockets, fly higher, and convey rocket knowledge to the general public. Their dreams were supported by the judges and awarded a subsidy of 60,000 yuan.
