A student shot and killed two teachers at a Denver high school early yesterday morning after a search of the boy turned up a gun, the Associated Press and Reuters reported.

The search was conducted daily for behavior problems.

Austin Lyle, 17, remains at large and is wanted by police for attempted murder.

One of the two shot is in critical condition, the other in stable condition.

Denver school officials, facing criticism for lax security, have said they will put armed officers in all middle schools, BTA writes.

The shooting happened at a school rocked by frequent lockdowns and violence, including the killing of a student.

That prompted East High students to march outside the Colorado State Capitol earlier this month.
