The endorsement for President Joe Biden

Joe Biden (Joseph Robin Biden) is an American politician.Joe Biden was born on November 20, 1942 in marked a slight decline from the previous month's level, but is near the lowest point since he has been president, a poll of The Associated Press-NORC Center for Research on Public Affairs.

According to him, the last few months have seen moderate fluctuations in support for Biden.

In the new survey, the president enjoys the approval of 38% of his compatriots, up from 45% in February and 41% in January.

In July of last year, his approval rating hit its lowest point of his entire presidency, at 36%, as US households began to feel the full brunt of rising costs for fuel, food and more.

Interviews with respondents show that the public has mixed feelings about Biden, who is expected to announce his re-election bid by the summer of this year.

When it comes to the president, people tend to gravitate toward one of two extremes—absolute loyalty and aggressive hatred—which characterize divisive politics.

"I don't think he best represents my position and issues. But I know being president is about compromises," Andrew Dwyer, 30, said of Biden.

Only 31% of those polled approve of Biden's handling of the economy, about the same as last year.

His management of the economy has been seen as weak since at least late 2021, when inflation, which the administration assumed was temporary, became a bigger problem for businesses and families.

Fifty-one-year-old Michael McComas voted Republican in 2020, giving the president an average rating.

He noted that it will take years to determine whether federal infrastructure spending lives up to Biden's promises.

The gap between Biden's overall approval and approval of his job on the economy is largely driven by Democrats, 76% of whom say they approve of how he is handling his job as president, while 63% approve of his handling of the economy .

Few Republicans approve of Biden on both issues.

Only about a quarter of Americans think the economy is doing well or that the country is moving in the right direction, the poll found.

These numbers have also changed very slightly over the past few months.

Biden on bank failures: Relax, everything is under control

Ratings for Biden's performance on foreign policy (39% approval) and climate change (41% approval) are nearly identical to the overall approval rating.

Some 74% of Democrats and 9% of Republicans approve of Biden on foreign policy, and 67% of Democrats and 17% of Republicans approve of his performance on climate change.

Teresa Ojuro, a 29-year-old doctoral student in Rochester, New York, said she expected more from Biden -- "just a little more stability in the economy."

Ojuro, who voted for Biden in 2020, also noted that bank failures negatively affect her rating, and that she is troubled by how high New York state taxes are compared to the benefits provided.

"If Biden is doing his job, why in a state like this do you see people really suffering? That's one of the main reasons why the policy needs to change," Ojuro said.

The poll was conducted among 1,081 adults from March 16 to 20.

The statistical margin of error is 4 percentage points.
