[Reporter Gan Menglin/New Taipei Report] The new regulations of the Tobacco Hazard Prevention Law came into effect on March 22 this year, completely prohibiting e-cigarettes and other smoking products, and strengthening various control measures.

Cooperating with the new regulations, New Taipei City simultaneously conducts inspections in parks, sales places, colleges and universities, etc. to protect citizens from smoking hazards. A total of 1 business operator who violated the regulations for displaying e-cigarettes and 2 illegal smoking behaviors were seized. Regulations impose penalties.

New Taipei City has announced the "New Taipei City Autonomous Regulations on the Management of Electronic Cigarettes and Heated Smoking Sets" since 110. During the inspection period of one and a half years, 74 physical stores in the city have closed or transformed; for Internet operators, the city government, the central government and various Counties and cities have carried out comprehensive monitoring. Since the self-government regulations came into effect, a total of 1,111 cases have been inspected and 757 cases have been fined, with a cumulative fine of more than 2.41 million yuan.

reminded that there are several key points in the revision of the Tobacco Hazard Prevention Law:


1. The smoking ban age has been raised from 18 to 20 years old;


For heated tobacco that has been assessed for health risks, the maximum fine is 10,000 yuan; the maximum fine for the supplier is 250,000 yuan; the maximum fine for the seller is 1 million yuan, and the maximum fine for the manufacturer or importer is 50 million yuan; 3. Schools are completely banned from


smoking , including colleges and universities, regardless of whether they are over 20 years old, smoking products are not allowed on campus; in addition, kindergartens, childcare centers, home-based childcare service places, bars and nightclubs are also completely non-smoking places.

The New Taipei City Health Bureau launched an inspection in response to the new system.
