In Great Britain, a woman was bitten by a spider called False Widows during her sleep, which left part of her body blackened and "dead".

Tracey Kars, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, said she woke up one morning to find a bite on her leg.
The wound hurt her and she immediately suspected that she had been bitten by a False Widows spider while she was sleeping.
The woman sought help from doctors.
After she was sent home after prescribing a course of antibiotics, the woman was horrified: a week later, the bite site turned black and dead.
There was an area of blackened dead flesh at the bite site.

The woman says that she was bandaged for several months and was even offered an operation.
However, after 4 months, the wound began to heal and now only a large scar remains.
