The 9 days festival of Navratri has started.

For 9 days, the devotees not only worship the 9 forms of the mother but also keep a fast.

Only satvik and fruit-rich food is eaten during the fast.

In such a situation, one problem that comes in front of everyone is that what to cook in fruit food every day.

So Chef Ranbir Brar has brought the power of this problem of yours.

He has shared the recipe of Vrat Wale Dahi Vadas on his Instagram.

Vrat Dahi Vada Recipe:

for batter

  • ½ cup millet

  • 2 tbsp curd (whisked)

  • ¼ cup sago (soaked)

  • rock salt, as per taste

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp Sabudana (soaked)

  • 2-3 green chilies (chopped)

  • ½ inch ginger (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

  • 4-5 raisins (chopped)

  • ¼ tsp fruit salt

  • ½ tsp oil

  • oil for frying

to soak

  • 2 tbsp curd

  • ½ cup water

  • rock salt as per taste

  • ½ tsp sugar

for sauce

  • 2-4 green chilies

  • ¼ cup coriander leaves

  • ¼ cup mint leaves

  • 2-3 cashews

  • 1 tbsp curd

  • rock salt as per taste

for the yogurt mixture

  • 1 ½ cups curd (whisked)

  • rock salt as per taste

  • 1 tsp castor sugar

  • for tempering

  • 1 ½ tsp oil

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 5-6 cashews

  • 5-6 raisins

  • 1 green chili (cut in half)

  • ½ tbsp peanuts

for garnish

  • yogurt mix

  • green chutney

  • pomegranate seeds

  • fresh mint leaves

Dahi Vada Recipe:

  • To make the batter, first put millet, curd and sago in a bowl.

  • Now add rock salt and sugar as per taste, put it in a grinder jar and grind it to make a smooth paste.

  • Take out the paste in a bowl, then add sago, green chilies, ginger, green coriander, raisins and mix it well.

  • In a small bowl, add fruit salt, oil and mix well.

  • Pour this mixture into the batter and mix well.

  • For frying, heat oil in a pan, make small balls of the batter and fry in medium honey oil.

  • Fry the vadas on medium heat till cooked from inside.

  • After this take them out on kitchen tissue.

  • Now prepare curd to soak the vadas.

  • Add curd, water, rock salt as per taste, sugar in a bowl and mix well.

  • Put the fried vadas in curd water and soak them for 15-20 minutes.

  • Now to make chutney, add green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, cashew nuts, rock salt and curd as per taste in a bowl.

  • Put it in a grinder jar and grind it into a fine paste.

  • Now put curd, rock salt as per taste, castor sugar in a bowl and mix well.

  • Now gently squeeze the vadas and place them in a serving dish.

  • Garnish by adding curd mixture, green chutney over it.

  • Serve by adding pomegranate seeds, mint leaves and prepared tadka over it.

  • Your tasty dahi vadas are ready.
