Army Chief General Manoj Pandey said India will face terrorism and internal security challenges in future as well and the country's security forces will deal with them "unitedly".

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey said on Tuesday that terrorism and internal security challenges will arise before India in future as well and the country's security forces will deal with them "united".

Gen Pandey was speaking after inaugurating the All India Police Commando Competition organized by the National Security Guard (NSG) at Manesar here.

He said that the new-age technology has enabled the enemy to carry out its activities through drones, internet, cyber space and social media.

General Manoj Pandey said, “You all know that the situation of terrorism and internal security is affecting our country in different ways.

We are facing these challenges unitedly.

This is improving the (security) situation in various states." He said, "These challenges will continue in the future as well.

Some of these challenges will remain for a long time, some will be present indirectly while some will remain hidden.

General Pandey said that the "apprehension" of terrorist attacks in the country cannot be ignored.

He also praised the intelligence and security forces for thwarting such conspiracies and networks.

He praised the federal anti-terrorist force NSG for developing specialized skills in bomb detection and disposal, countering drones as well as effective coordination with other security agencies.

A total of 24 teams from various Central Armed Police Forces and State Police organizations are participating in the competition.

This contest will end on 31st March.
