Nine workers were killed in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Kanchipuram.

Nine workers were killed and at least 12 others injured in a blast at a firecracker manufacturing factory in Tamil Nadu's Kancheepuram on Wednesday.

Police gave this information.

Police said that when the workers were engaged in work related to making and storing firecrackers, there was an explosion, after which the fire broke out. 

Nine laborers died and 12 others were injured in the fire.

The construction and storage building collapsed due to the explosion.

Police said that the cause of the accident is being investigated and violations have been identified.

He told that the injured are being treated in various hospitals.
