Tomorrow, March 23, in the Orthodox calendar,

is the day of commemoration of the martyrs Kodratus Nikomidius, Satorin and others

.

Kondrat came from a noble family.

Although he possessed great wealth, he did not spare money to help Christians who were imprisoned for their faith.

Once he arrived in Nicodymia, where Codratus lived, the messenger of the wicked emperor who tortured Christians.

The saint voluntarily stood before him in order to strengthen the courage of the other prisoners with his selfless determination.

At first, the governor flatteringly asked Kodratus to renounce his faith, promising him all kinds of honors and rewards.

But, seeing the futility of the attempts, he threw Kodratus into the dungeon, ordered to put his back on small nails and crush him with a heavy stone.
