Germany has confirmed that the "European trio" (Germany, France and Great Britain) are negotiating with Iran.

APA reports that the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) published information about this on Twitter.

The Ministry announced that French, German and British diplomats held a meeting with the Iranian side, but no discussion was held regarding the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).

"In order to express our positions very clearly in the face of Iran's escalation in many areas, a meeting of diplomats of Great Britain, France and Germany took place with Iran.

However, no talks were held regarding the JCPOA," the report said.

It should be noted that earlier, IRNA agency reported that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Keni and European diplomats met in Norway last week regarding the nuclear agreement.

It was noted that Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service for political issues, also participated in the meeting held in Oslo.
