Cuba dominated the doubles modality in both sexes in the Caribbean Table Tennis Championships, a tournament organized in the Guyanese city of Georgetown and that

offers Pan-American qualifications in the team modality.

During the day, the Greater Antilles also enjoyed silver

in the mixed doubles modality and bronze with her second partner in the men's double.

Andy Pereira and Jorge Moisés Campos reached gold

after winning four consecutive duels, the most important against Puerto Ricans Ángel Naranjo and Oscar Birriel, the second couple from Puerto Rico.

In that duel, the Cubans dominated in five sets and won a title that confirms the good moment of national table tennis.

Before that duel, the best national duo started successfully 3-0 against locals Paul David and Christopher Franklin.

Then, they also defeated the Dominicans Samuel Gálvez and Isaac Vila by sweep in the quarterfinals, and in the semifinals

they had their real acid test when they faced and dominated the Puerto Ricans Brian Afanador and Daniel González 3-1, first classified in the event and top favorites for the title.   

In this test for Cuba, Liván Martínez and Adrián Pérez also competed, defeated in three sets in their semifinal against Naranjo and Birriel and

ultimately owners of the bronze medal.

the Olympians Jorge Moisés Campos and Daniela Fonseca finished with a silver medal after losing in the final against the Puerto Ricans Daniel González and Melanie Díaz.
