BJP creates ruckus in Jharkhand Assembly over ban on Ram Navami procession

Ranchi:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday created a ruckus in the Jharkhand Assembly over restrictions imposed on Ram Navami processions and asked whether the state was ruled by the Taliban.

During the Question Hour, BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal demanded that "DJs" (big music systems) be allowed in the Hazaribagh Ram Navami procession.

During this, angry Jaiswal tore his kurta while giving the statement.

Jaiswal alleged that there was a deliberate attempt to destroy the 104-year-old tradition of Ram Navami procession in Hazaribagh.

Jaiswal alleged that an FIR was lodged against innocent people, while five people in his constituency Hazaribagh are on a fast unto death, demanding that "DJs" be allowed during the procession.

He asked if the state is under Taliban rule?

Minister Mithilesh Thakur claimed that there are BJP workers protesting for the demand of playing "DJ" in Hazaribagh.

He said, “There is an instruction to follow the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Courts regarding the decibel limit.

We respect all religions - Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian.

We are real devotees of Ram.

Meanwhile, the assembly passed two bills to set up private universities in the state.
