A specialized police operation to counter domestic crime in small settlements and public order offenses was conducted on March 21 in the villages of Tuzha and Manolovo.

This was announced by the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Stara Zagora.

Checks were carried out at 43 addresses, 123 persons and 46 motor vehicles, 13 persons were detained, the Directorate states.

At one of the addresses, tobacco excise goods without a banderol were found. 

The operation was carried out by employees of the police station in Pavel Banya, together with employees of the Zonal Gendarmerie Department - Kardzhali and the State Hunting Farm "Mazalat". 

The ODMVR - Stara Zagora also indicates that the increased police presence continues in the territory served by the Regional Administration - Kazanlak.

As BTA reported, the additional security measures were taken after the mass beating in the center of Kazanlak on March 20, after which one person died and four others are in danger of life.

It arose as a result of a long-standing feud between two families from the villages of Tuzha and Manolovo.

After a statement by the Mayor of Kazanlak Municipality, Galina Stoyanova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a working meeting with mayors of settlements in the region, at which specific measures to protect public order and prevent similar incidents were discussed.
