Raspberry growers will use agricultural machinery to block the roundabout on the E79 main road on the Targovishte-Ruse road.

"This protest is from all users - fruit, vegetable, grain producers, rice and other irrigated crops producers. Our main fight is against the monopoly of "Irrigation Systems". They are the only supplier of water in this area and the price that was announced for season 2023, is shocking. We are the first users of the vote, because strawberries are the first to need watering already in April," said the chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Raspberry Growers Bozhidar Petkov on the "Bulgaria morning" air.

Compared to last year, the price of water is more than 300% more expensive for the season

, and the total price over the years is even more shockingly high, Petkov announced.

"We alerted the Ministry of Agriculture as early as March 1. We are aware that the problem cannot be solved in two days, but on March 9 we had a meeting at "Irrigation Systems" together with the management, who promised that within a week or 10 days, the problems will be solved. We then stopped our protest, which was planned for March 10. So far, we do not have a written permission for the problem," the interlocutor explained.
