Water storage rate of main reservoir

[Reporters Liao Jianing, Chen Xinyu/Report from Taipei] The drought is intractable, and the water situation continues to deteriorate. Starting today, the water situation in the south of Hsinchu has been lit with warning lights.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs will hold the second work report of the Central Disaster Response Center for this year's drought at noon today. Zheng Wencan, vice president of the Executive Yuan, announced yesterday that south of Hsinchu, the current blue light (normal) area will turn green light (water situation reminder).

Officials also revealed that Kaohsiung will change from amber light (depressurized water supply) to orange light (reduced water supply) compared with Tainan.

Will the adjustment of water regime lights south of Hsinchu affect the Science Park?

Will there be counties and cities that have to adopt second-order water restriction measures?

Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Meihua said that even if the light signal is adjusted, it will not affect the water demand of industries and people's livelihood, and there is currently no plan to rotate water supply by district.

Ye Zhijun, a forecaster of the Central Meteorological Bureau, said that the central and southern regions may have the first wave of spring rain on Saturday and next Sunday, but there is still a long way to go before the reservoir "quenches its thirst".
