An in-depth exchange of views on the "Ukrainian issue" took place between the parties.

Xinhua writes about it.

Xi emphasized that there are voices for peace and rationality in the Ukrainian issue.

"Most countries support de-escalation, are in favor of peace talks and against adding fuel to the fire.

A review of history shows that conflicts must ultimately be resolved through dialogue and negotiations," the article says.

"China published a document on its position on the Ukrainian crisis, advocating a political solution to the crisis and rejecting the Cold War mentality and unilateral sanctions," Xi recalled.

China believes that the more difficulties there are, the more it is necessary to preserve the space for peace.

The more acute the problem, the more important it is not to give up efforts for dialogue.

"China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the Ukrainian issue," said Xi.

For his part, Putin noted that Russia appreciates China for its unchanging impartial, objective and balanced position and advocacy of honesty and justice in major international issues.

"Russia has carefully studied China's position document on the political settlement of the Ukrainian issue and is open to peace negotiations. Russia welcomes China's constructive role in this regard," the message reads.

It will be recalled that Putin, on the eve of Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow, said that he was allegedly ready for a "political-diplomatic settlement" of the war against Ukraine.

Let's add that at the same time, Ukraine expects Xi Jinping to influence Russian President Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

This was said by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko.

He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a closer dialogue with China in order to restore peace.
