Scholars believe that the current climate situation is very urgent, and it is already an era of global heating, and it is no longer just global warming.

[Reporter Chen Jiayi/Report from Taipei] The world is suffering from extreme climate threats. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the latest report yesterday, showing that the earth’s temperature has risen to 1.1 degrees Celsius. It is an arduous task to control the temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius by the end of the century.
Scholars believe that global warming is not enough to describe the current situation, and should be called "global heating". Generation Z, born in the middle and late 1990s, will be the generation facing the most serious global warming.
The Taiwan Science and Technology Media Center invites domestic scholars to analyze the latest report released by the IPCC online.
The IPCC report pointed out that before 2030, carbon emissions must be reduced by at least half compared to 2010 in order to control the global warming within 1.5 degrees Celsius, and the current temperature rise has reached 1.1 degrees Celsius.

Xu Huangxiong, executive director of the Anthropogenic Climate Change Center of the Environmental Change Research Center of the Academia Sinica, said that based on the current situation, no matter how carbon is reduced, it is very likely that the temperature will rise by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius in 2050; if it can reach net zero by 2050, the temperature will not will drop immediately, but may return to within 1.5°C by the end of the century (2100).
Xu Huangxiong emphasized that now the world is scorching hot, and it is no longer just warming.
Under the scorching heat, Generation Z, born in the middle and late 1990s, will be the generation facing the most serious global warming for human beings. They will have to face climate shocks and support the elderly at the same time when they just come out of society.
Chia-wei Chiu, an adjunct assistant professor of the International Degree Program in Climate Change and Sustainable Development at National Taiwan University, mentioned that China currently sets a 24% emission reduction target in 2030, which is far behind the international trend. It should be set at 35% to 40%. keep up with the international.
Shi Wanyu, an associate professor at the Department of Urban Planning and Disaster Prevention of Ming Chuan University, said that people living in highly vulnerable areas around the world are 15 times more likely to die due to extreme weather such as floods, droughts, and storms than in general areas; it is suggested that the government should actively find out High-risk areas in the country.
In the face of climate disasters that may become a daily routine, Shi Wanyu believes that adjustment work is very important, but the lack of impact assessment models in China makes it difficult to adjust accurately, and it may become a headache and a foot. It is recommended that the government establish cross-departmental, cross-temporal and spatial-scale policies .
In terms of carbon reduction, scholars also call for the accelerated implementation of "immediately feasible" mitigation solutions such as renewable energy and energy conservation.
The Taiwan Science and Technology Media Center invited experts to analyze the IPCC report. Scholars believe that warming is inevitable, but if net zero can be achieved by 2050, the earth may return to within 1.5 degrees Celsius of warming by the end of the 21st century.

Scholars pointed out that based on the current situation, the earth's temperature is likely to exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius in 2050; if it reaches net zero in 2050, the earth's environment may return to within 1.5 degrees Celsius at the end of the 21st century.
