German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

believes that Russia's war against Ukraine will not end in the near future

.

He said this at a discussion organized by the Rheinische Post newspaper in Dusseldorf, dpa reports.

"We have to prepare for the fact that it will take a long time," Scholz said.

He added that even after the end of the war in Ukraine, "everything will not return to normal immediately."

"But we also must not stop working to end the war," Scholz said.

The chancellor repeated that Russia cannot dictate the conditions for peace, noting that Ukraine "must have the ability to protect its integrity and independence."

We will remind, the representative of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, believes that Vladimir Putin knows about the negative course of the war for him, since more than 50% of the territory occupied by the Russian Federation since the beginning of the full-scale war was recaptured by the Armed Forces.
