It is extremely important that as many citizens as possible participate in the early parliamentary elections, which will strengthen the legitimacy of the institutions.

High voter turnout depends on parties' ability to propose sustainable solutions and strategic long-term policies to address challenges.

This was stated by President Rumen Radev

Rumen Georgiev Radev is a Bulgarian military man, major general from the reserve.

A former commander, who today at "Dondukov" 2 met with representatives of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), announced the press office of the head of state.

On March 1, the office opened an election observation mission for the upcoming vote for national representatives.

During the conversation, the measures taken to ensure the security of the vote, as well as the organization of the election process, were discussed.

The head of state highlighted the role of the caretaker government, which also for the upcoming parliamentary vote is working to ensure conditions for fair, transparent and free elections.

Video surveillance during the counting of ballots was highlighted as a means of illuminating the electoral process.

The head of state also pointed out that our society does not need another election campaign based on the contradictions between the party leaders, but oriented to the real problems.

The need for political forces to direct their attention to Bulgarians abroad was also emphasized.

The highlight of the conversation was the changes in the Electoral Code.

President Radev recalled his veto of the latest amendments, which was overridden by the people's representatives.

According to him, the current law has changed the nature of machine voting, which has so far successfully dealt with a number of shortcomings of the electoral process: it has significantly reduced the percentage of invalid ballots, errors in the protocols of sectional electoral commissions and vote buying.
