Russian President

Vladimir Putin

faces the fate of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein after the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued a warrant for his arrest.

The West no longer worries about "saving face" for Putin.

Political scientist Mykola Davidyuk

expressed this opinion in an exclusive interview with

TSN.ua.

According to him, after the decision of the International Court of Justice, Putin "deprives himself of the opportunity to be a political leader on the world stage" and turns into a "domestic closed dictator."

"

If before that they said that Putin should save face, now there is no question of saving face. He will be "saved face", like Saddam Hussein - they will just put on a black bag when they hang him. This is how Saddam Hussein's face was saved - there is no

photo , when he was hanged, and his face was contorted in convulsions. No one saw it, so Saddam was "saved face". I think that the face-saving regime for Putin today will be just like this," the political scientist predicts.

As Davydiuk noted, "Putin is turning into a loser in the war with a clear understanding of how it will end."

"

He follows Saddam Hussein's scenario, where it is clear that the dictator will not be left alive

," the expert emphasized.

According to the political scientist, the war for Russia will end not with Putin, but with another politician:

"

The question is with whom the West will negotiate - they can be with FSB officials, conditional Medvedev, Shoigu or Navalny's wife

."

We will remind, on March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.

They are charged with a war crime - the illegal mass deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine handed over to the ICC more than 40 volumes of materials on the forcible deportation of children - more than 1,000 pages.

From now on, Putin can be arrested in any of the 123 countries that recognize the decision of the International Criminal Court, and brought before the tribunal.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, said that Putin will stand trial in The Hague, regardless of the position of Russia, which does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court.

The warrant for Putin's arrest will remain in effect for the rest of his life - until he appears in court.

Ukraine also calls on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, to investigate the shooting of a captured Ukrainian soldier by the Russians.
