President Volodymyr Zelenskyi summed up the important meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, who arrived in our country on a visit.

The head of state said this in his traditional video address in the evening, March 21.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Kishida began his visit to Ukraine with a visit to Buchi.

He also visited the Wall of Memory in Kyiv, near St. Michael's Cathedral, and honored the memory of our soldiers who died for Ukraine.

"And it is very important when global leaders show courage, visiting Ukraine despite all the risks, and show respect - respect for our people who are fighting not only for their state, for Ukrainian independence, but also for their survival in the world and civilized rules, civilized life were in effect," the head of state said.

The president called the talks with Prime Minister Kishida "quite productive".

He reminded that this visit is taking place at a time when Japan presides over the "Big Seven".

"So, taking into account the strength of Japan, the leadership of this state in Asia in the protection of peace and the international order based on rules, as well as the responsibility of Japan as the chairman of the Group of Seven, our negotiations today can really produce a global result," Zelenskyy hopes.

The parties also discussed security, political, sanctions, economic and humanitarian issues.

There is a readiness of Japan to join the reconstruction of Ukraine and be a leader in these economic and infrastructural processes.

"But today I also heard a very concrete willingness of Japan to work together with us to even more actively mobilize the world for international order, to protect against aggression, to protect against Russian terror," Zelensky concluded.

We will remind that today the Prime Minister of Japan arrived on a visit to Ukraine.

He also visited Bucha and on behalf of his nation expressed his sorrow for the dead.
