The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is monitoring the visit of Chinese leader

to Russia and expects that Beijing will use its influence to get the Kremlin to stop the war.         

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko said this in a comment to "Ukrainian Pravda".

"Ukraine is closely following the visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Russia. We expect that Beijing will use its influence on Moscow to force it to stop its aggressive war against Ukraine. As Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasized in a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart last week, the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine should be at the center of all diplomatic efforts," Nikolenko said.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a closer dialogue with China in order to restore peace.

Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow 

Chinese leader Xi Jinping's three-day visit to Russia began

on Monday, March 20

.

The event is taking place at the invitation of the Russian side.

The spokesman of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Peskov, said that

the beginning of the meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping is planned for approximately 15:30 Kyiv time

.

Putin will hold a conversation with the Chinese leader.

The topic of Ukraine "will certainly appear at the negotiations."

According to experts, thanks to these negotiations, Xi Jinping wants to strengthen the political, economic and technological dependence of the Putin regime on the PRC.
