This Monday begins the XXIV edition of the International Agroindustrial Food Fair (FIAGROP 2023), at its traditional headquarters in Rancho Boyeros, without losing its essence and tradition, which is the exhibition of the best specimens of livestock, the competition and the auction of animals, together with the rodeo, a show that the ranchers live and whose exponents: the cowboys, prepare themselves in their daily tasks.

Orlando Díaz Rodríguez, director of International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that the export of products and services, foreign investment and the application of science and technology in production have become tools to manage an agriculture lacking in resources. and technologies.

He explained that the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba has an impact on the productive results

, since every day it becomes more difficult to acquire the inputs and fuels that the sector demands.

Based on this precept, we work to encourage national exhibitors to be those that have the potential to export and investment projects that are attractive to international buyers and investors, as well as encourage the participation of their foreign partners in business forums, he explained.

Prior to the inauguration, the business groups, companies, cooperatives and representatives of the new forms of management, carried out the assembly of the exhibitions, while workers from the Agricultural Fair dedicated themselves to the conditioning of the stables, cleaning and beautifying the enclosure, in the creation of conditions in each area.

Registrations for business forums were also made,

in which the progress in the transactions that are carried out will be evaluated and new commercial actions will be promoted, he added.

More than 20 foreign firms are present, of which 19 have exhibition spaces and the rest arrive as visitors, they come from seven countries: Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Armenia, Nigeria, some with traditional attendance at this event. reported Ángel Recio Aldabó, coordinator of Fiagrop.

The exhibiting national companies represent the business groups of the Ministries of Agriculture and the Food Industry, AzCuba, small and medium-sized companies.
