The plane of Chinese President Xi Jinping is approaching Moscow.
This is evidenced by data from the flightradar24 portal.
If the visit goes ahead as planned, Xi Jinping will become the first world leader to meet Vladimir Putin in person since the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for the Russian dictator on March 17.
It will be recalled that the three-day visit of the Chinese leader
Xi Jinping
to Russia begins today.
The event is taking place at the invitation of the Russian side.
During his last visit to Moscow in 2019, Xi Jinping called Vladimir Putin his best friend.
Since then, the geopolitical situation in the world has undergone rapid changes, and the positions of both politicians have also changed.
The last time Putin and Xi Jinping met in person was in September 2022 at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand.
Then the Chinese leader did not shake hands with his "best friend".
