The 38-year-old man who attacked Plovdiv lawyer Stefan Levashki for no reason was arrested within 24 hours, according to the prosecutor's office, from where they are monitoring pre-trial proceedings for hooliganism. 

The attack happened yesterday morning.

While walking his dog in an inter-block space, the lawyer was attacked by an unknown man without provoking him.

The assailant initially hurled a number of insults as well as threats as he was walking his dog in the area.

At one point, the stranger threw a stone at Levashki and hit him in the back.

No injuries have been identified, reports "Maritsa".

After the report was filed, an investigation began, and within 24 hours the materials were reported to the District Prosecutor's Office and a pre-trial proceeding for hooliganism was initiated.

The perpetrator of the crime was identified and detained for a period of 24 hours under the Law on the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the course of the investigation, an identification was made today, during which Levashki named his attacker.

He has not been convicted.

He is expected to be charged with disorderly conduct by the end of the day.

Actions are being taken on the investigation.
