About 4,000 Russian servicemen are stationed in Belarus.

It is noted that they are trained under the guidance of Belarusian instructors.

The Commander of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev, said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Naev said that these are mostly mobilized Russians.

"Since October of last year, the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation made a decision to deploy a regional grouping of allied state troops on the territory of Belarus. Russia has officially announced the deployment of 9,000 military personnel," Nayev explained.

According to the expert, they are undergoing a three-month training course as part of units of the territorial troops of the Russian Federation under the leadership of Belarusian instructors.

"In the future, these mobilized will be moved back to Russia to conduct hostilities on the territory of Ukraine," the lieutenant general added.
