Norway handed Ukraine eight Leopard 2 tanks and four auxiliary vehicles. 

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Norway. 

"Recently, Norway prepared and transported tanks to Ukrainians. Eight Norwegian tanks have reached their destination and are ready for action in the war against Russia," the message reads.

In addition to the eight donated tanks and support vehicles, Norway provides funds for ammunition and spare parts needed by the armed forces.

"Now we believe that it is absolutely correct to support Ukraine. 

It is important for the security of Norway and Europe that Russia does not win with its aggression against Ukraine," Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.

It will be recalled that the ministers of defense and foreign affairs of the EU agreed on a plan for the joint purchase of ammunition.

It envisages providing Ukraine with 1 million shells over the next 12 months.

Germany also announced the delivery of Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
