Norway has delivered eight Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine to help repel the Russian offensive, DPA reported, citing the Norwegian Armed Forces.

The tanks have arrived and are ready for operation, the armed forces in Oslo said today.

"For Ukraine, the donation of tanks will be key to its ability to carry out offensive operations and regain territories occupied by Russia," said Lt. Col. Larsh Jansen. 

Poland has delivered 10 more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

Norway announced in February that it would give Ukraine eight of its 36 older Leopard 2A4 tanks.

Oslo also said it would supply Ukraine with four escort vehicles, as well as ammunition and spare parts.
