Companies in Greece that have not submitted the necessary accounting documentation for retail sales to the Greek Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) will be punished with closure from 48 hours to 10 days, BTA reported, citing ANA-MPA.

The decision was issued by the manager of the Greek Independent Public Revenue Authority, Yorgos Pitsilis.

The measure will apply to violations found between October 31, 2022 and March 18, 2023.

The reason for the imposed punitive measure is the established violations from the previous months.

In October last year, it was found that around 170,000 cash registers in Greece either did not send a single accounting document or suddenly stopped transmitting data on retail sales to the electronic systems of Greece's Independent Public Revenue Authority.

Expenditures in the state insurance budget for February increased by over BGN 714 million.

Sanctions will not be imposed on those businesses that have complied after receiving the last warning email in October 2022 from the Greek Independent Public Revenue Authority,

ANA-MPA specifies.
