Russia does not stop trying to undermine the Black Sea Grain Initiative and deliberately spreads disinformation.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko.
He recalled Dictator Putin's statement that, as part of the "grain corridor", only 45% of grain was delivered to European countries and only 3% to Africa.
Nikolenko emphasized that these statistics do not correspond to reality.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of August 1, 2022, Ukraine exported 25.1 million tons of agricultural products to 45 countries of the world through the grain corridor:
Africa – 2.9 million tons (11.6%);
Asia – 12.1 million tons (48.2%);
Europe – 10.1 million tons (40.2%).
In addition, part of the Ukrainian grain purchased by the "federal countries" of Europe is sent as a humanitarian re-export to Africa and Asia.
Therefore, the real statistics of exports to the African continent are even higher than 11.6%.
"The Black Sea Grain Initiative has proven its effectiveness. World food prices have stabilized. The "Grain Corridor" saves millions of people in the world from malnutrition and hunger," said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nikolenko called on the international community, primarily African and Asian countries, not to allow Moscow to use food as a weapon.
"Ukraine will continue to faithfully comply with its obligations as one of the guarantors of global food security. We are also grateful to the UN and Turkey, as well as other partners, for their efforts in the context of extending the "grain agreement" for 120 days," he concluded.
We will remind that on March 18, the "grain agreement" was extended for another 120 days.
In turn, the scandalous representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, claims that the grain agreement was extended only for 60 days, not 120.
