The Ministry of Finance publishes the package of tax changes.

Financier #1 announced that we need to tighten our belts and increase the revenue in the treasury.

The minimum wage is planned to be increased to BGN 940.

"The minimum wage will affect not only the public sector, but the private sector as well. It was necessary to clarify who these belt-tighteners apply to. An increase in the minimum wage will lead to an indirect and direct increase in the cost of production and services" , said the head of the "Regional and Political Geography" Department at "St. Kliment Ohridski" SU, Assoc. Kosyo Stoychev on the air of "Bulgaria morning".

Minister Velkova: Starting next year, the minimum wage should become 940 BGN

In the words of Prof. Grigor Sariyski from the Institute for Economic Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), "the increase in the minimum wage means that you have more income in the treasury".

"What was done until now was an unmeasured fiscal policy that burdened the budget with more expenses, the aid went to whom it should. The fiscal began to perform functions that are not inherent to it. This was the motive of the finance minister to startle his colleagues. In the next budget should have more sense," he believes.

According to Prof. Stoychev,

it would be naive to separate what the Ministry of Finance says from the political situation in the country

"People slowly began to reduce the expenses they don't need, which means programming the stagnation," the guest emphasized.

The head of the Department of "Regional and Political Geography" at SU "St. Kliment Ohridski" is of the opinion that the Minister of Finance should stick to the conservative policy of a deficit of up to 3%.

"The Bulgarian state suffers from a syndrome - some sectors of the economy are better represented and heard than others, because they "shout" more. As indicators and fiscal authorities, they do not deserve these results. Now it is difficult to explain to people on a tax holiday, that they should return to their normal rates", Assoc. Stoychev also noted in relation to the VAT for the restaurant sector.
