New Delhi:

Waving Khalistani flags and raising pro-Khalistani slogans, a group of protesters attempted to bring down the tricolor hoisted atop the Indian High Commission in London on Sunday evening.

India has strongly objected to this incident.

There has been a demand from India that all the people involved in this incident should be arrested and cases should be initiated against them.

Also, to prevent such incidents, security should be further strengthened.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that the need for adequate security arrangements was emphasized by summoning the UK official.

British officials have condemned the incident, calling it "disgraceful" and "completely unacceptable".

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan tweeted "I condemn the violent disorder and vandalism at the Indian High Commission today. This type of behavior has no place in our city. The incident is being investigated. London Metropolitan Police incident Police are investigating and Scotland Yard was called. Police said in a statement that most of the crowd had dispersed before they arrived. One man has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Let us inform that pictures of people climbing on the broken windows and 'India House' building were revealed on social media.

Video from the scene shows an Indian officer pulling a flag being waved by a protester from a window on the first floor of the High Commission, while the protester is seen waving a Khalistan flag.

It is noteworthy that amid the crackdown on pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh in Punjab, the banned terrorist organization 'Sikh for Justice' is conducting the so-called "Referendum 2020".

Before Sunday's incident, such acts of Khalistani supporters have also come to the fore in Canada and Australia.

Last week, the Consulate General of India in Brisbane city of Australia had to be closed due to security reasons.

Khalistani supporters gathered there illegally and blocked the entrance of the office.

In recent months, Khalistan supporters have vandalized several Hindu temples in Melbourne.

India has been continuously raising this issue with the Australian authorities.
