The main point of China's "peace plan" should be the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.

Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, wrote about this on Twitter.

"The formula for the successful implementation of China's "peace plan". The first and main point is the surrender or withdrawal of the Russian occupation forces from the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the norms of international law and the UN Charter. With the aim of restoring sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity," he noted.

Danilov timed his statement to coincide with the visit of Chinese President

Xi Jinping

to Moscow, which will last until March 22.

What is known about the "peace plan" from China

China's "Peace Plan"

contains 12 principles that, according to the authorities, should contribute to the end of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.

However, the word "war" itself is not mentioned in the document - in the English version of the document, the authors use the words "conflict" and "Ukrainian crisis".

In particular, in the document, China called for:

  • to a ceasefire and hostilities

  • all parties to ensure food exports within the grain corridor

  • all parties must resist the weaponization of the global economy

  • stop the introduction of unilateral sanctions

  • to avoid further escalation of the crisis and its getting out of control

  • to the earliest possible resumption of dialogue between the Russian Federation and Ukraine

  • to respect the legitimate security interests of all countries

  • the international community to participate in the reconstruction of the conflict zone

  • to oppose the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons

  • resolve the humanitarian crisis and prevent its escalation

"The security of the region must not be achieved by strengthening or expanding military blocs. The legitimate security interests and concerns of all countries must be taken seriously and properly addressed. There is no simple solution to a complex problem. All parties must, while adhering to the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security and keeping in mind the long-term peace and stability in the world, contribute to the formation of a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture," the document says.
