The Punjab Police has declared radical preacher and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh a proclaimed offender.

Along with this, the police have arrested 78 of Amritpal's close relatives while carrying out a major action against him on Saturday.

The police is constantly looking for him.

The police of seven districts have cordoned off the place where he is likely to be hiding. 

Jalandhar Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal said that Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh has been declared a fugitive.

Two of his cars have been seized and his gunmen have been arrested.

The validity of their weapons is being investigated and a case has been registered. 

He said that Punjab Police personnel are busy to arrest Amritpal Singh soon.

So far 78 people have been arrested.

Let us tell you that on Saturday Amritpal Singh and his companions were surrounded by the police near Mahetpur village of Shahkot in Jalandhar.

Police had received information about Amritpal Singh coming to Shahkot.

That's why Moga police had already closed all the routes to Moga and Shahkot and put nakas.

The police had earlier arrested six of his associates.

The rest were arrested in the evening.
