Rescuers warn about the threat of avalanches in

the Carpathians

Ukrainians are urged to refrain from going to the mountains today and tomorrow.

This is stated in the press service of the State Emergency Service.

Avalanches are possible in the mountains of Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia for at least two days.

This is the third level of danger.

"Due to the thaw on March 19-20 in the Transcarpathian highlands, and on March 20 in the highlands of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a significant snow avalanche danger is expected," the State Emergency Service emphasizes.

By the way, the rescuers of the Chornohorsk mountain search and rescue post note that as of the morning of March 19, it is clear on Mount Pip Ivan, with a northwesterly wind of 6 m/s.

The thermometer showed -4 degrees.
