The National Electric System (SEN) reported that

yesterday there were no damages to the electric service due to a deficit in generation capacity.

The availability of the SEN at 07:00 today is 2,840 megawatts (MW) and the demand is 1,820 MW, with the entire system in service.

According to the information note of the SEN, it is estimated that during the daytime there will be no affectations to the service due to a deficit in generation capacity.

However, it is reported that unit 2 of the Felton Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) is out of service due to a breakdown.

In addition, unit 4 of CTE Cienfuegos and units 4 and 6 of CTE Renté are under maintenance.

These situations cause limitations in thermal generation (292 MW).

Likewise, in distributed generation, 854 MW are unavailable due to failure and 311 MW are under maintenance.

For the peak hour, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., an availability of 2,840 MW and a maximum demand of 2,550 MW are estimated, for a reserve of 290 MW.

Therefore, if the forecast conditions are maintained, no effects are forecast for the electrical service during this time due to a deficit in generation capacity.

The SEN urges the population to make rational and efficient use of the electrical service, as well as to report any anomaly or interruption that occurs.
