Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Crimea on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the peninsula's reunification with Russia, the Kremlin's press department reported today.

The president visited the Chersonese Historical and Archaeological Park, which includes the Korsun Children's Center and a children's art school.

Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev participated in the presentation of the facility to Putin.

Traditionally the Russian leader attends the March 18 celebrations in Crimea.

On this date, around 2014, a treaty on the reunification of Crimea with Russia was signed in Moscow, which entered into force on March 21 of that same year after being ratified by the Russian Federal Assembly.
