The defender of Simba, Shomari Kapombe has said that the system established by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to buy goals for the Simba and Yanga teams in international championships has a great meaning in Tanzanian football.

Answering the questions of journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday before their African Champions League game against Horoya today, Kapombe said that the system of giving money in big matches helps to motivate the players and that it will help to promote the team and the country's football.

"As Simba players, we thank President Samia for the great support he is showing to our teams, we have received it well and I must say that he is bringing something that will help promote Tanzanian football," said Kapombe and added:

"If he continues with this kind of enthusiasm in major competitions, we will definitely be at the top in Tanzanian football."

Since he announced to buy every goal scored by Simba and Yanga in the international championship, the players of those clubs have already benefited.

Yanga has collected 30 million Shs after scoring six goals, in three games against TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) they won 3-1 and against Real Bamako of Mali they won a total of 3-1 goals in two games at home and away.

Simba collected Shs 10 million after scoring two goals in two games won against Vipers of Uganda winning a total of 2-0, 1-0 away and 1-0 at home.
